More Than The Essentials

Listening to the Needs of Local People

Since January 2025, Black Country Foodbank has been working in partnership with Healthwatch Dudley to better understand and respond to the needs of our community.

Throughout the year, Healthwatch Dudley is visiting some of our Dudley-based foodbanks to speak directly with people who use our services. These conversations give individuals the chance to share their experiences, talk about what has led them to food insecurity, and explore the support available to help improve their health and wellbeing.

The feedback gathered will be used to shape and influence local services, ensuring they reflect the real challenges faced by people across the Dudley borough.

By listening closely to the voices of local people, this partnership is helping to make sure that individuals not only receive food and essential items, but also the information and support that can empower them to move forward.

“We know that people who use Black Country Foodbank may not always have the time or resources to find the support and services that could make a difference. By working together, we can ensure people have access to vital information and the chance to improve their wellbeing.” – Healthwatch Dudley
