Corporate Volunteers

23rd November 2017

We love having corporate volunteers helping us at the warehouse in Brierley Hill. Over the last few years we have had lots of organisations helping us out for the day including Coventry Building Society, Costa Coffee, INTU Merry Hill, Interserve, Virgin Media to name but a few!

We always have positive feedbank from the employees who take part in our volunteering days. The types they do include dating stock, sorting stock and stacking shelves. If we have the time (and we will try and make time) we take the group along to one our Distribution Centres to see first-hand how the donations travel through the system and arrive at a centre ready to go in a food parcel.

We really value our corporate volunteers as they always work hard and learn so much about Black Country Foodbank.
Here are a few comments from some of the team members:

Ed from AF Blakemore told us that through volunteering with us for a day he learnt and understood how Foodbanks operated and gained an appreciation of community led initiatives.

Linda from INTU Merry Hill said that she realised how much hard work and time is given by so many people.

If you are part of an organisation who would like to give some time to volunteering please get in touch. We hold our corporate volunteering days from the middle of September to the end of January (work permitting). We can take groups of 5 or less due to space.

This is a photo of the team from AF Blackmore who recently volunteered with BCFB for the day.
