Harvest is the most important time of year for us at Black Country Foodbank. It’s a time when we encourage as many schools as possible across the Black Country to participate in holding collections to support us. It’s the time of year when we collect the most stock and we look to increase our stock levels enough to sustain the demand until early into the following year.
Schools, Churches, companies and individuals hold harvest collections and enjoy bringing the items directly to us so they can see exactly how we use the items.
Harvest time is a time of real celebration for Black Country Foodbank because every year we are blown away by the generosity of our supporters. Our harvest period runs from September to late November and we have been collecting about 20 tonnes for the last few years. This is an incredible amount and we are thankful that local people are so generous.
